Eastern South Dakota Water Conference call for abstracts extended
We
are extending the call for abstracts out another week to October 5th.
Consider
submitting an abstract for an oral or a poster presentation. The student poster
competition has a first price of $200 and a second prize of $100.
Join
colleagues from across the region in attending the 2012 Eastern South Dakota
Water Conference held on the campus of South Dakota State University in the
University Student Union on Tuesday, October 30.
The purpose of the Conference is to bring stakeholders in
water resources, including policy makers, industry, agriculture, officials from
federal, state, and local governments, universities, engineers, interest
organizations and the citizens of the state together to exchange information,
discuss solutions to current and emerging water resources topics, define new
policies and network to form professional relationships. In addition, a large
number of college-level students from engineering, agronomy and other
biological sciences typically attend the conference to engage in water-related
discussions of relevance to the state and the region and meet with prospective
employers.

The
keynote speaker is Attorney David Ganje from Ganje Law Offices who will be
discussing Water Rights in South Dakota – the Legal Steps for an Irrigation
